Haumi ē - A course for humanity.
30 hours of PD. Delivered over 7 weeks
We're excited to announce that alongside our awesome Te Ara Tāwhaiwhai programme and in support of Māori, we're launching the Haumi ē course for all non-Māori! This opportunity is perfect for anyone wanting to step up as an ally (haumi) in Aotearoa. Join us to boost your skills and confidence in being an active ally —you won’t want to miss it!
Being a culturally capable organisation in Aotearoa, New Zealand has significant benefits and embodies our nation's unique point of difference. By learning how to be a more honourable treaty partner, we can collectively create a more just and compassionate Aotearoa for all.
Haumi ē is an allyship programme calling non-Maori to action by knowing and doing better. On this journey, we will delve into the heart of Aotearoa’s shared history and culture, and seek to understand the ongoing impact of colonisation on Tangata Whenua. We will learn strategies to reduce the harmful effects of racism, challenge biases, dismantle barriers, and work together to create a more equitable Aotearoa.
